Welcome to the website of the Overton Dramatic Society (or "ODS")! We are a small, friendly society based in Overton, in Hampshire, UK. We've produced at least two shows per year since 1980.
Nightclub sensation, Velma Kelly, is arrested for the murder of her husband and sister, and Chicago’s slickest lawyer, Billy Flynn, is set to defend her. When Roxie Hart, a wannabe star,
also winds up in prison after killing her boyfriend, Billy takes on her case as well, turning her life into a media circus. While also fighting for their freedom, neither woman will be
outdone in their fight against each other and the public for fame and celebrity.
Set in a speakeasy in Chicago during the prohibition of the 1920’s, the show is a vaudeville performance of song and dance, with plenty of jazz hands to go around.
If you love to sing or dance to the classic ‘All That Jazz’, the sultry ‘Cell Block Tango’, or the high energy of ‘We Both Reached for the Gun’ then why not come along and join in?
Preparation for the auditions starts at 7:45pm on Tuesday 7th January 2020 at the ORC, Bridge Street, Overton.
All new members very welcome, whether you’d like to be on stage or behind the scenes!
The show will open Tuesday 2nd June and run to Saturday 6th June 2020.
